So… My wife Just came back from China with a bag of dried out frogs. “Unfortunately” I’m not allowed to taste since it is a gift to C from her sister. According to C eating a part of the intestines helps to keep you young. Somehow I missed the young looking 80 year olds last […]

Cook a bit more and then add…… cream!
I like most cheese… I haven’t always, but 7-8 years ago, I went from accepting mozzarella on pizza, burgers, lasagna and toast, to eating a range of varities fresh and cold on bread. At first I mostly ate the mild ones, but that has gradually changed as I grew accustomed to the taste. There was […]
Hope they are tasty. Update: they are :-)
Sometimes its looks good and tastes well… Sometimes it looks less so, but tastes great anyway… Sometimes I manage to cook a Chinese dish even better than C….. And sometimes C buy weird stuff and make me barbecue it….
Cow stomach in chilli sauce with cucumbers. It tastes well at first, but after chewing away for a while, you notice that mostly its due to the sauce. I’ve eaten this many times now, but I’ve begun avoiding it after a very rubbery mouthful that balled up in my mouth and just wouldn’t go down. […]
Fish with tofu.
Chicken dish. Very yummy, but lots of bones.
Very sugary dish – Can’t remember what it was exactly, but a bit too sweet for my taste.
At the local market, a guy is stirring up some kind of Egg vegetable bread thingy. I looked so yummy I had to taste. 3 thumbs up from me.
My fave dish tasted in China 2011. Hot and lots of meat.
Eating Beijing Duck with a few extra dishes. Noteworthy is the sea cucumber (dark dish to the right) that didn’t taste like much but the spice. Felt like jelly in the mouth. Ate it twice when I was in China this year. Not sure I’ll ever eat it again. The duck was delicious though.
Sixth in the series of ”What we did in Norway on our vacation pictures” Sometimes pictures say more than words (at least when they are accompanied by wording, right?).
Fifth in the series of ”What we did in Norway on our vacation pictures” and some thoughts I had a small discussion with C the other day. It followed one of my many friendly taunts regarding C’s love for fruit and fish. More precicely: free fruit and fish of course. She does love them bought […]
This post is inspired by Ben’s recent entry. My wife always tells me that she does not feel full for a long time unless she eats rice. If we eat Danish food (potatoes, pasta, salad, bread or whatever) one day, she will often complain that she miss rice the next. When I giggled at her […]
Just found a picture at The Opposite End of China, that reminded me of exactly how the chicken feet I ate back in China looked. Nails and everything. Fancy a bite anyone?
Ok – ok, I may not be a Spike, but I do eat out at times. As hard as it is to drag C off to a restaurant, I still try to on some rare occasions. Moneys tight at the moment, but that’s expected. We only have one income and therefore have to watch every […]
Well, not the exact part of cooking them, but preparing them is a bloody mess. Mostly because I am only allowed the extremely boring part, where you roll the suckers until your whole right arm is numb and your left hand feels like spaghetti. The clever reader adds: “You know it wouldn’t be as hard […]
So besides giving me a reason to shamelessly promote myself, this entry is an ode to my wife’s cooking. The self-promoting first: Yes – today it’s my birthday and I have now reached level 36. Thank you for asking. I’m sure this brand new information will make room for an endless stream of well-wishings and […]
