A spider up close. I’m not that fond of spiders. Especially not when they grow big enough to spot hair on their legs. The local temple was riddled with webs from spiders like this one. The body was like a big thumb nail. Bigger spiders than I’ve ever seen in Denmark.

Stealthy shot picture from the dentist. This particular clinic is basically just one big room with 4 dentist chairs with people getting yanked out teeth or whatever they need. Meanwhile costumers are waiting for their turn on chairs along the wall.

Not quite sure what you must have done to deserve the beating this woman got (in the green shirt). The girl in black tired to protect her, only to be pushed away by the attacker (the guy in white shirt, being held back by what must have been his friend). Not very manly to punch […]

Random picture from the great wall at Badaling. Badaling sucked just as much as I thought (I felt all Karl Pilkingtonesque). For some reason, the wall never fascinated me, and if I had to go it surely wouldnt be Badaling with the annoying ammount of people). C insisted and my brother wanted to go as […]

A nosey laowai starer scared off by me flashing my camera. I never thought I’d see those hats in China. Too kitch to be true, or maybe I just roam the wrong parts of China.

Stupid me

I head a beeping noise and thought to myself that a truck must be backing up. Then I started laughing as I remembered that I was in China.

More than you bargained for

In attempt to teach our kid some Chinese, C got hold of some VCDs with Chinese children’s songs. Actually calling them ‘Chinese’, may be overdoing it, since many of the melodies are oddly recognizable to me (like Jinglebells for one). Anyway, the lyrics are in Chinese, and that good enough for the purpose. Yesterday, as […]

Filling the void

If anyone is interested: As expected the runaway dog never showed up. No idea about it’s fate, but C may end up being correct. To compensate for the loss, C’s parents now have a new puppy. Hopefully this one will not be lost as easily as the first one. C told me about the new […]

Puppy love

So, my parents-in-law bought a dog last summer. They were very fond of it, but a few days ago it ran away. My wife’s father was walking it and suddenly some firecrackers set of, and so did the dog. Its leash broke only being a line my in-laws made themselves. Now they blame themselves for […]

Hot, but cold…

Maybe it’s just me, but the last week, I have noticed an increasing number of girls that decided to wear short skirts and pantyhose. This disregarding the fact that in the same time, it has become pretty cold in the mornings and after the dark sets in (approximately 0-5 degrees celcius). C has noticed it […]

Double action?

This may have interest for the Danes reading this blog. For curious non-Danes: don’t think more about it. It’s a petition for Danes being allowed double citizenship, which is not legal atm.

A banks tale – Part II

Here I should have been writing a whole lot about how we tried to get our money back from the Chinese bank. As you may know, they decided to “withdraw” the fee we already paid here in Denmark from the transferred cash, instead of getting them from the Danish bank as the OUR agreement states […]

A banks tale – Part I

Recently we sent some money to Cs father and mother. We’ve done so a few times already, because they need the necessary doe to prepare passport and visa for their hopefully upcoming trip to visit us here in Denmark. For us the fees are peanuts, but for them, it’s a whole lot of money. We […]

What the h… did Mark “Da Shan” Rowswell do in the Olympics parade? I read that he is attached as a “consultant” to the Canadian sports people, but why was he allowed to walk in the parade with them? It’s a sportsman event, not an “I-love-to-see-myself-in-the-media-event”, is it? Any one but me who would like […]

Bout rice

This post is inspired by Ben’s recent entry. My wife always tells me that she does not feel full for a long time unless she eats rice. If we eat Danish food (potatoes, pasta, salad, bread or whatever) one day, she will often complain that she miss rice the next. When I giggled at her […]
